Hi, Landova Dappa welcome to the hiphop network underground digital magazine, Why don't you introduce yourself for those who don't know you already?

Well, Hello World! It's Landova Dappa from Landover, MD. I'm 18 years old and sounds like nothing you've ever heard before.

Well the network is all about making moves, so tell me what sets you as an artist and the group you work with apart from every other rapper/producer out there grinding?

The thing that makes me special from every other person you have or is gonna see is that,

I don't think there is anything that I can't do that has to do with music far as versatility. Like for example, I would troubleshoot my attributes. I got to make sure that everything is displayed to the fullest, Wordplay, Storytelling, Singing, Flowswitching, and not just subject matter but a subject that matters. Not only can i imitate and hang with the best of 'em but i can also just create my own unique styles, so its the best of all worlds yaknow? Then i ventured over into singing, producing, and engineering. I'm still open to learn new things and further develop though so I never get complacent and i can continue to grow. Can't get big headed because it's not my work, its all GOD.

What group is it that you're currently repping, and what's a little history behind how you came to be?

LTE we're not really a label because it's not like we're doing record deals or nothing (yet anyway). It's more of a support system, where we help each other to promote, and connect each other with resources that maybe on of us has and the others don't. Kinda like what Hov said about being each others crutches so that no one can fall.

My story is, i been a very artsy, creative, deep, "left side of the brain" kinda person since i was born. Started off in Elementary school writing love poems for girls, than in middle and high school I did a lot of freestyling and battling. During that time I didn't really have a place to record but music flowed through me to the point that i had over 1,200 fully structured songs written between 8th and 10th grade. Then I got my Magix Music maker and I started recording my butt off.

Dropped my Debut Mixtape "Life's A Musical v.1" Thanksgiving of 2007, in 2008 I dropped v.2 & 3 completing the trilogy, A EP "The Resume EP" and a group mixtape "LTE vol.1: The Foundation". Built a pretty good buzz in the D/M/V, got a top10 single on Ourstage.com, radio play in DC, a few big names in the city rounded up and then i dropped my album "The Perfect Imperfection (Hosted by-DJ Torkaveli) Jan "09". Here I am.

Is there anything going on locally that we should be keeping our eye out from you and your camp? Where is it that you consider to be your local grounds?

Locally keep your eyes open for "The Perfect Imperfection" free album circulating in the streets, that you can also get off myspace.com/dappadoncardy. Request my single "Heartbroken" on 93.9 wkys or wpgc 95.5. I'm based in the Washington, DC metro area aka "The DMV"

What do you think of the Hiphop Network, and what they are trying to do in building an indie database making real hiphop accessible to everyone?

I Think it was genius and greatly needed. More people need to know about this. In my opinion.

Aiight, on a more personal level now Landova Dappa what is your personal take on the current state of hiphop today?

1. Everybody is so cookie cut and the originality isn't where it once was. I can predict every topic that an artist is gonna talk about on thier albums before I even get it.

2. I'm tired of the media (Radio, TV, etc.) giving all of the attention to these artist who all sound the same and neglecting to give promotion to artist who I think deserve the shine. But they don't know my opnion of who i think deserves shine so I guess I can't really be mad at them.

There are a lot more problems, too many to list, and i find more everyday so my job is to be the solving factor of those problems and fill all of the voids that Hip-hop left open. Doing everything that nobody esle is doing while creating new unique things to do.

If you don't agree that hiphop is dead, or at least digital currently, then please tell us why you think that it is still alive, and who do you believe is currently out there that supports your case?

I'm tired of people saying that Hip-hop is dead and wack now because it's really not. It's just that you gotta dig a little deeper than mainstream radio and TV to find diversity. Which is a problem because a lot of people who are fans don't have the time to do that so they're forced to listen to strictly what the mainstream promotes. Hip-hop is very much alive though. Mainstream media is what's dying if you ask me because it's showing off one part of the culture while neglecting the others.

What made you decide that you were going to make music for a living?

I always have a different opinion and perspective on topics than the everybody. Not neccesarily disagreeing with the majority but I usually see thing between the lines that others don't due to a "Left side of the brain" "Out the box" mentality. Plus I've lived on both sides of a lot of situations so i see things from both sides. That mentality with the fact I fell in love with music (Writing, singing, rapping and making beats.) Made me want to pursue it. Hopefully one of my songs can save somebody's life. If that already hasn't happened. God works that way sometimes lol...

What else is in store for Landova Dappa and your camp in the near future or beginning of 2009?? What is it that the network should be looking forward to?

Mixtapes, Albums, Shows, Me featured as a rapper, singer or production credit on a lot of your favorite artist's albums. etc. Until I get my deal I'm just gonna do everything independently. It's a slower burn but hey I gotta start somewhere and if they ain't gonna open any doors for me or haven't noticed me yet than I'mma kick down my own doors and walk up into the buildin' like Hi honey! I'm home! lol...

Well it looks like we've come to the end of our interview, I'd like to thank you personally Landova Dappa for taking the time to let us all get to know you better, is there anything else you'd like to say before this is over?
